Lebron James is taking his talents to the big screen. Thanks to funny man Kevin Hart, the Miami Heat Star is expected to begin shooting the movie Ballers next summer after the 2013-14 NBA season wraps.
Back in 2009, sources revealed that the two-time NBA champion was slated to begin a movie called Fantasy Basketball Camp, a Universal Pictures and Imagine Entertainment comedy. Malcolm Lee (The Best Man Holiday) was picked to direct the movie and Craig Robinson was rumored to star alongside James. The plot was focused on James' character -- a 6'8'' gifted basketball player of the same name -- and the problematic attendees of his Adult Basketball Camp in Vegas.
While the role may have seemed like a walk in the park for the four-time MVP, the movie was eventually scrapped prior to James' "decision" fiasco.
Hart, who is friends with several NBA players including James, will co-write the script for Ballers with Joey Wells, Chris Spencer and Harry Ratchford. He will also reportedly play the underachieving brother of James, who decides to attend the fantasy camp. James will executive produce the film along with Maverick Carter, Kim Roth and Hart. A director for Ballers will be chosen once the script is completed.
