Lil’ Boosie Has Been Released From Prison

Rapper Lil Boosie has been released from the Angola State Penitentiary in Louisiana tonight (March 5).

Confirmed by Warden Burl Cain to local news site WAFB Channel 9, Boosie — who’s name is Torrence Hatch — left the facility at 7:10 pm (EST) this evening, and transferred to the sherriff’s department in St. Francisville to await his family. The rapper was jailed in 2009 following a drug possession charge and violation of probation. His official release date (which had been changed several times) was most recently noted as May 20, 2014.

Details on his ahead-of-schedule release have not been revealed, but the rapper is scheduled to hold a press conference in New Orleans on Monday (Mar. 10), which has been organized by Atlantic Records.

Boosie will remain on parole until 2018
