Everyone should be familiar with the term "Free Boosie" by now, but by next summer, it will no longer need to be recited. According to NOLA.com, after much postponement and speculation, Lil Boosie (real name Torrence Hatch) finally has a release date from prison. He will become somewhat of a free man on Aug. 18, 2014 (he'll remain on supervision through June 17, 2018).
Boosie began his prison stay in 2009 after pleading guilty to a third-offense marijuana possession charge. Then in 2011, he pleaded guilty to trying to smuggle drugs into jail, adding more time. But in 2012, he dodged more time when he was acquitted in the 2009 murder of Terry Boyd.
Boosie's return home has been a long time coming.
