It has been almost a decade since Mannie Fresh dissolved ties with Cash Money Records, thereby not having worked with Lil' Wayne since. But it seems as though the previously dynamic Cash Money rapper-producer duo may be cooking up something new. A tweet by producer/songwriter Charles Pettaway revealed Weezy and Mannie were in the studio together this past week:

Instrumental in the rapper's establishment, Mannie Fresh was responsible for production on Wayne's Tha Block Is Hot, Lights Out, 500 Degreez, and Tha Carter. After his departure from Cash Money, controversy swirled last year when Mannie Fresh got wind of Wayne's intent to release a Big Tymers album featuring Birdman and Drake.
"I don't bash Cash Money, Birdman, or none of them. It's really on, I'm just striving on just getting what I deserve, you know, what I put in," Mannie told MTV last year. "Honestly I think Drake is a great artist, I think Wayne is a great artist, but they not the Big Tymers."
Now, it looks like the hatchet has been buried and the two may be getting back to the music. No word on what was recorded or where it will be featured, but Lil' Wayne is still working on his upcoming Carter V, and a beat from Mannie Fresh would be a great look.
