Lip Service: Angela Yee Talks Writing Love Letters & Getting Humped By a Girl With Prodigy
Queensbridge
AALIYAH, “4 PAGE LOVE LETTER” (1996)
Angela Yee: Did you write love letters while you were locked up?
Prodigy: Yeah. I did my own art, too. I’m good with the artwork.
People would pay me to do their art—give me food or
whatever—and I’d draw a little something for them.
You get a lot of love letters when you were younger?
Maybe in school passing notes. That’s about it.
Did it ever get super explicit?
Yeah. And I was scared, too. Homegirl said she
wanted to hump me. I didn’t know what the hell that
was. She said meet me in the woods after school.
She humped you?
Yeah, she humped me…in the snow.
How old were you?
Nine, 10.
Did you complete the mission?
Nah. I ain’t know what to do. I was scared to death.
