I-Octane has had quite the run. Five years deep—an eternity in reggae years—the Clarendon, Jamaica-born artist drops his new, much-anticipated album, My Journey (DJ Frass/Tad’s Record), tomorrow (March 4).

The international star born Byiome Muir merges lover vibes with dancehall flavor on his latest project, which you can hear in its entirety one day early, here at vibe.com. Of My Journey, which was entirely produced by Jamaican hit-maker DJ Frass, I-Octane says:

“Musically, this album represents my growth as an artist and as a person. Over the years, my perspective on a lot of things have changed and I’m now seeing things not just from a local standpoint but from a more global perspective. This album is not just for a particular group, it is for everybody and the music and content reflect that.”

“I want this album to help people to realize that we all have more in common than we are different. We all go through the same types of things and experience love, joy, pain and suffering in our own ways. I hope that once people realize this, it will be easier to see each other as brothers and sisters and to genuinely love each other.”

“The Almighty has allowed certain things to happen to me so that I can learn, and then others can take from my experiences and apply those lessons to their own lives. The music is just my vehicle of passing on my message. That is what reggae music is all about—spreading messages about love and life to help and uplift our brothers and sisters.”
