The subtle yet tangible shadow of the Wu-Tang Clan hangs over Drake's emo yet excellent new album Nothing Was The Same like a cumulus cloud, from the Cappadonna and ODB name drops to the obvious title troll "Wu-Tang Forever." And while Wu-Tang stans have been generally pissed by the title of "Wu-Tang Forever," the Clan (minus Inspectah Deck) has been supportive of Drake's nod to their sophomore LP. They're fans, too. And to show support on wax, Raekwon lifted the instrumental of NWTS's "Pound Cake" (which references "C.R.E.A.M." from Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)) to freestyle his own rendition, "Marble Cake." Listen up for the Shaolin take on Jay-Z and Drake's square-off.
