Wyclef Jean tackles Chicago’s record murder rate on his new acoustic jam “Bang Bang Bang.”

Some 506 people were killed in 2012 in the violence-plagued Windy City. This past January alone set a new bloodshed record after some 43 people were killed in gun-related shootings.

On “Bang Bang Bang,” off Clef’s April Showers mixtape, the former Haitian presidential candidate sings about Chi-town’s love for former Sammy Sosa, but also their “shoot first, think last” mentality. “How long will this bloodbath last?” he asks, before answering his own question. “All they need is love.”

April Showers drops this Tuesday (April 29).
