Today marks the 10th anniversary of Jay-Z's The Black Album. If you remember, what was supposed to be Jay's final album was originally rumored to be titled 8th Wonder of the World. There was also a very limited edition first-press run of all-black versions of the album, which featured an all-black front and back without any picture. Only die hard fans remember heading to the store to pick up that edition on the day of release. And, how about the sole time that Jay appeared on Rap City, coming prepared with the classic promo shirt "Buy Black".
We at Vibe take every opportunity we get to bump The Black Album, so follow @VIBEMagazine for our listening party today (Nov. 14) at 2 P.M. with Music Editor Mikey Fresh (@MikeyFresh1) as he drops gems about the album's release.
