Even Lorde, whose viral hit “Royals” captured the world's ear (and had every rapper hopping on a remix), can use some advice from time to time.
The New Zealand-bred sensation revealed in a new interview with Rolling Stone that she sought out country-pop music star Taylor Swift for some assistance with gift-giving.
The 17-year-old recalled that she had difficulty choosing a Christmas present for her manager, which turned out to be “a hand-shaped brass bowl and a minimalist globe table lamp,” according Us Weekly.
The “Team” singer recruited Swift’s expertise by texting a picture of the gift ideas, saying “Taylor’s super-good at this stuff. She’s decorated her own houses for ages.”
Despite Lorde’s past negative comments on the “Trouble” songstress, saying she’s flawless, unattainable, “and I don’t think it’s breeding anything good in young girls,” the pair became friends when Swift sent her roses after her Grammy-nominated hit, “Royals” reached No. 1 on the charts.
Lorde said she was “floored” by Swift’s gesture.
