Love & Hip Hop's Executive Producer Talks Spinoff Shows, Juelz Santana, and More

Posted December 7, 2011

Mona is back!

You've sent the questions and we've got the answers. Check out Mona's latest blog entry, responding to what you asked on Twitter..

To My Lovers & Hip Hoppers:

Thanks for continuing to support the show! Hopefully it's getting better for you guys by the week. You're actually coming up on what I feel are our best episodes so can't wait to hear your reactions. We're almost wrapped with shooting and I can't tell you how happy that make me! Note to self- shooting while the show Is airing? - Not a good thing. Lol!
Anyway, we got through it and I love that you guys are loving it.
Thanks again for the support and keep watching!!

With Love and Hip Hop such a success, are we going to be getting spinoffs of the show?

I definitely want to create a franchise as Hip Hop is global and I think there are great women and stories to be told in other markets, not just in the US but Internationally as well. Hip Hop is huge in Germany and France and they have their own stars over there. Can you imagine? But in answer, I have definitely had my eye on a couple of other cities and have put some feelers out there with some ladies, so hopefully there's something to announce in the very near future.

Will we be seeing more of Yandy's work with Monami?

Interesting that you ask as that is an area the network and I always disagree on. They feel that the work stuff isn't as interesting and that the viewers will get bored. I believe our viewers want a balance and want to see different kinds of women represented. But in fairness sometimes the work and career stuff is hard to capture in a compelling way. The personal stuff tends to be more exciting. Anyway, we do see Yandy in work mode and we will make it a point moving forward to continue to showcase that side of her life.

With Somaya and Chrissy being cordial with one another, is that Jim Jones x Somaya Reece collaboration in the works?

I don't know about that. LoL! The ladies  did "bury the hatchet" this season but I think Somaya moved past looking for that collabo.

Will we see Juelz's reaction to the Chrissy/ Kimbella fight?

Juelz does appear on the show so you will get to hear his thoughts on the things that are going on. He and Yandy have a close relationship and they have a great convo on the show.

Will Teairra Mari get into any drama on the show? Chance of becoming a regular member?

Drama to me is not always an argument so yes, she does have some very good scenes coming up on the show. Our original intention was that Teairra would make a guest appearance as she and Emily are friends and she was in town, but she was great with Emily and great on camera so we expanded her role and kept bringing her back. We really like Teairra and definitely want to do more with her.
