Lupe Fiasco Headlines 'Moving Minds' Benefit Concert in NYC

Lupe Fiasco Headlines 'Moving Minds' Benefit Concert in NYC

Posted October 17, 2011

On November 7, the Transform America charity (in conjunction with Emané Marketing, 20/20 Audio Visual, Inc. and Terminal 5) will host the Moving Minds Benefit Concert--featuring musical performances by Grammy-award winning artist Lupe Fiasco and independent, Brooklyn-based singer- songwriter Maya Azucena. Additionally, poet and lyricist Shanelle Gabrielle will both perform original pieces and act as the event’s MC. All of the artists chosen to perform have significantly demonstrated their commitment to community activism through personal activities.

The benefit concert is being held to raise both awareness and funds for Transform America’s Moving Mind Mentorship and Youth Council Programs. Transform America and its various programs seek to advance the cause of human rights by building relationships and rapports between student groups and community (both non-and for-profit) organizations.

The concert will be held at Terminal 5 located on 610 W. 56 St; general admission is $50 and VIP tickets are $100 and are available on ticketmaster.com. For more information visit transformamerica.org. --Zoy Britton
