Lupe Fiasco Sets The Story Straight On Pete Rock Beef

Here's the latest in a situation that we thought was resolved. Lupe Fiasco calle into #SwayInTheMorning to talk about the now infamous "Around My Way (Freedom Ain't Free)" track and it's use of Pete Rock's "T.R.O.Y." sample.

As you've probably already heard, Pete wasn't too keen on the idea of Lupe's sampling—even calling the song "wack" on Twitter. However, all was squashed, and a supposed even bigger tribute between the two MCS was in the works. Or so we thought.

In this new turn of events, Lupe talks with Sway about getting actual clearance on the record from the label, Pete Rock's Twitter message post-beef, and details on the history of how long the song has been in the works.
