Macklemore's "Thrift Shop" Goes Double Platinum

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis' bargain ballad "Thrift Shop" has just went double platinum. The news arrives just one month after the song reached platinum and three months after the two released their debut studio album The Heist. The song is currently at No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Macklemore recently shared with VIBE his thoughts about the rising trend and topic of their successful hit. "Thrift shopping is really just an extension of me being that same kid and going into a place that’s completely unconventional that has really endless possibilities in terms of outfits that you can put together and really just expressing yourself," he said. "I mean fashion is an expression of ourselves as individuals. There’s nothing more individual than going into a place full of used clothes and trying to put together something fresh."
