Mad Cow Disease Discovery Leads South Korean Retailer to Stop Selling U.S. Beef

Another U.S. Mad Cow Disease scare has caused an overseas retailer to temporarily stop selling U.S. imported beef.

Lottemart, a large South Korean retailer of beef raised in the States has announced the halt of sales until a further investigation has taken place.

"Currently, the sale of U.S. beef is temporarily suspended to ease our customers from anxiety," LotteMart said.

South Korea is one of the largest importers of U.S. beef and officials in Korea hope to ease any fears of a large Mad Cow Diease outbreak taking place.

This particular animal was processed at Baker Commodities Inc. rendering facility in Hanford, California, according to Executive Vice President Dennis Luckey.
