The man that you’re seeing in the picture above is the jerk who decided to take matters into his own hands by attacking one of his players after a game loss. Get this: the player was a female.

As reported by WishTV, the 17-year-old told police her basketball coach, 47-year-old Fred E. Freeman, was verbally abusing her after the team lost a important tournament game being viewed by college scouts. As the incident escalated, Freeman punched her in the face, threw her to the ground, and got on top of her to put his hands around her throat.

According to witnesses, the whole ordeal started when two players from the Wisconsin Stealers got into an argument about a recent loss. When Freeman intervened, instead of breaking up the fight he hit the girl and threw her to the ground—all while his own daughter was pleading with him to stop.

Police said he admitted to restraining the girl but said he was the victim. Freeman was arrested on a preliminary charge of battery. He was then released yesterday from the Hamilton County Jail after a judge waived his $5,000 bond. He faces a preliminary charge of battery, which could carry up to one year in prison and up to a $5,000 fine.

One thing this idiot needs to learn is that the game is never that serious to the point where you feel the need to put your hands on a player 30 years younger than you—especially a female.
