Man Behind Manti Te'o Online Hoax Admits Being Gay

The man behind the Manti Te'o catfish, Ronaiah Tuiasosopo sat down with Dr. Phil and admitted he was gay.

While faking his identity as Lennay Kekua, Manti's online girlfriend, Tuiasosopo says he his love for the Notre Dame linebacker was genuine and that he invested all his efforts into the faux relationship. "I pretty much had this escape of Lennay and this was where my heart had pretty much invested, not just time, but all of my energy went into this," Tuiasosopo said.

He also said he is trying to recover from homosexuality and cope with real life. "As hard of a task it is, I'm going to do all I can to live right."
