Man Shoots TV Then Aims Gun At Wife Over Brandy 'DWTS' Loss

As Bristol Palin advances to next week's finals for Dancing With The Stars, Steven N. Cowan faces charges of second-degree reckless endangerment for shooting his home television before Palin beat out Brandy Norwood and partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy.

AOL reports that the Wisconsin resident had become outraged that Palin, daughter of political figure Sarah Palin, was doing well on the show when he 'did not think that she was a good dancer.' Visibly upset and dealing with the burden of financial woes, Cowan loaded his shotgun and blasted the television, later turning it on Janice Cowan.

Fortunately able to flee the scene, Mrs. Cowan alerted 911, and a 15-hour standoff between the troubled man and the police ensued. Around 11 AM, the armed man finally surrendered and now resides in Dane County jail.

Cowan is suffering from a mental health condition. -Niki McGloster
