Reports that Dream Chasers' own Lil Snupe was shot dead shook the streets Thursday (June 20). The rapper, often referred to as Meek Mill's protegee, was said to be either 17 or 18.
The Louisiana rep—whose recent mixtape R.N.I.C. (Real Nigga In Charge) packed features from DJ Khaled and Curren$y—signed to Meek's roster 20 minutes after the MMG rapper heard his demo, MTV News reports.
"He was spittin' so much pain, he's from the south with a flow like an east coast guy," Meek said of his reaction to Snupe's talent. "Like with that bounce flow, all over the place, he really can spit, and he was talking that talk that I can really relate to. I seen potential in him."
His manager Leem and rapper Young Turk took to Twitter to confirm the death. "The call I got this morning is un real RIP 2 my Lil nigga lilsnupe," Leem wrote. Turk showed a screen shot of his last text to Snupe on Instagram with the caption, "DIS WAS MY LIL NIKKA @LILSNUPE LAST TEXT WE HAD...SHIT FUCKED UP BRUH..#THUGGNPEACE."
