It looks like Simon Cowell's spoke his prediction into existence.
His mentee, 19-year-old Melanie Amaro, took the title for "The X-Factor" US last night on the finale.
The British Virgin Islands native wowed America and the judges with her powerhouse vocals. She beat 28-year-old Chris Rene and 30-year-old Josh Krajcik.
“We came here to find a superstar, we found a superstar. Thank you to everyone who supported the show… “I want to say, America, thank you for giving this girl an opportunity,” stated Cowell.
Amaro was brought back in to the competition when Simon realized he made a mistake of sending her home. Who knew that a change of heart would take things this far? Amaro is the winner of a a $5 million recording contract and an appearance in a Pepsi ad that will during next year’s Super Bowl.
We can't wait to hear what she has in store for us in 2012.
