'Men in Black 3' Marks Highest Memorial Day Opening Weekend for Imax

Men in Black 3 had a record-breaking Memorial Day opening weekend in Imax theaters.

The film grossed a total of $12.7 million in box office sales for Imax with $5.3 million made domestically and $7.4 million made internationally.

MIB3 showed in 474 Imax theaters worldwide and beat out Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, which previously held the record for highest Memorial Day weekend sales globally.

The Imax showing of Men in Black 3 also included a six-minute preview of the upcoming release The Amazing Spider-Man.
