There’s a few folks in the NBA that the G.O.A.T. of basketball Michael Jordan says he could take on in his prime. In a recent sitdown with ESPN to promote the release of NBA 2K14, Jordan name-checks Jerry West, Elgin Baylor, Julius Erving, Carmelo Anthony, Dwyane Wade, and the league’s MVP LeBron James. Los Angeles Lakers’ star Kobe Bryant though?

“I don’t think I would lose,” the 50-year-old veteran says, before smiling and adding, “other than to Kobe Bryant, because he steals all of my moves.”

This triggered responses from ‘Bron and Bryant themselves.

“MJ said that? I’ve thought about the matchup, but no one will ever see it and it’s not going to happen,” James said Tuesday after the Miami Heat’s training in the Bahamas. “It’s good for people to talk about.”

The Black Mamba took to Twitter instead: “Domino effect. I stole some of his..this generation stole some of mine #thecycle.”

Now if only MJ could just beat these pesky paternity suits. Watch the interview below.
