Michelle Obama Shares Details of Her First Prom Date

Michelle Obama is a time-tested fashionista.

On Monday’s episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the FLOTUS and Ellen swapped prom pictures as they spoke via videocam.

“That split was a little high,” she admits. ”I don’t know if I’d let my kids go out with a split that high, so let’s not show this at Malia and Sasha.”

Michelle made an appearance on the show to speak with a group of teenage girls whose parents are in the military. They were each given a $250 gift card to JCPenney to use for their upcoming proms. -- Camille Travis for UPTOWN Magazine
