To the delight of dog lovers everywhere, NFL star Mike Vick’s former kennel has just been taken over by philanthropic organization, “Dogs Deserve Better.”

Vick had control of the kennel, dubbed Bad Newz Kennel until authorities discovered a dog fighting ring being ran off the athlete’s property. He served 19-months for the arrest in 2009 and since apologized for his “mistakes.”

“The Pennsylvania-based philanthropic organization is said to have paid about $600,000 for the Surry County, Va., five-bedroom home to use as a rehabilitation center for dogs.”
