Mitt Romney 'Had No Desire To Run,' Son Says

Even if Mitt Romney did take the W in this year's presidential election, he wouldn't have been excited about the gig.

In an interview with the Boston Globe for a story on Mitt's loss against President Barack Obama, his son Tagg Romney says his father had no desire to run. “He wanted to be president less than anyone I’ve met in my life," Tagg told the paper. "He had no desire to ... run. If he could have found someone else to take his place ... he would have been ecstatic to step aside.

"He is a very private person who loves his family deeply and wants to be with them," Tagg added. "He has deep faith in God and he loves his country, but he doesn’t love the attention.”

Still, the electoral defeat has kept all eyes on Romney, whether it's going on a date with his wife to see "Twilight" or pumping his own gas.

It also wouldn't be the first time the Romney family has expressed Mitt's hesitation to become Head of State. "I tried to convince him not to," Matt Romney told Conan O'Brien in June. "I think there were a few of us that tried that. I just felt for us as a family, this isn't the best thing. But ... for the country, we think it's the right thing."
