Kick off the week with these top 10 dance music releases from the past week, curated by DJ, producer and vocalist Lea Luna.
1. Michael Woods feat. Lauren Dyson- In Your Arms
Michael Woods, who has been busy holding down residencies at some of the most elite venues across the globe - including Hakkasan in Las Vegas and Cream in Ibiza - has just struck the world's heartstrings on his collaboration with international multiplatinum singer/songwriter Lauren Dyson. "In your Arms" is a well-written summer anthem that sings of triumph in love. Perfect for the heartwarming type of chord progressions that Michael Woods established his name upon.
2. Tiga- Bugatti
The only thing better than a ride in a sweet car is to cruise in that whip with Tiga on the system. If a girl comes up to you and says "what are you driving?" say "Bugatti." At least that's the name of the song you're playing...
3. Santana & Wyclef feat. Aviciii & Alexandre Pires- Dar Um Jeito
Anyone watching the World Cup from the stands in Brazil this week is immersed in an ongoing massive multicultural party. Here we have an official World Cup song, a cultural fusion of the talents of Santana, Wyclef and Avicii. The title translates to "we will find a way" and binds everyone together on the field and on the dancefloor.
4. Psymbionic & Soulular- Silkscreen (Ill-Esha remix)
Of all the touring electronic musicians, there are few who are as multitalented as woman of all trades, Ill-Esha. She has just claimed residency in the US from Canada, and is on fire with her original production and remixes along the bass music festival circuit in North America. She plays keytar and sings on stage while DJing, putting her at the top of the DJ game talent-wise. This is a brilliant remix from III-Esha of Psymbionic and Soulular's "Silkscreen," which you can download for free courtesy of Gravitas Recordings.
5. Lane 8 feat. Bipolar Sunshine- I Got What You Need (Every Night)
If you're in a summer social mood, Lane 8 and Bipolar Sunshine "Got What You Need." This is a solid melodic house track led by mood-lifting lyrics that would be considered deep house if they just weren't so radio-catchy.
6. Fehrplay- Everywhere You Go
Ultra records has picked up Norwegian house sensation Fehrplay, who never disappoints. His deep and dirty style became popular in the US by Eric Prydz's Pryda imprint in 2009 and has remained consistent with club bangers internationally for years. "Everywhere You Go" is a house jam that is right on the front edge of what’s hot right now, yet still in line to become a classic house hit.
7. Wilkinson- Half Light
Junglist respected RAM recordings just came out with a festival appropriate anthem called "Half Light" that has the drum and bass lovers coveted low end as well as a vocal fit for festival attendees.
8. Will Raidle - Be Mine
"Be Mine" is a ‘90s classic dance tune transformed into a chill house vibe. Denver's Will Raidle provides a good laid back feel in his music. This "Be My Lover" bootleg completely reinterprets the meaning and feeling of the original by La Bouche.
