A few weeks ago, we told you that Monica and Brandy hit the studio together with Rico Love for a recording session.
After knocking out the song the R&B singers are ready to deliver their duet, "It All Belongs To Me," next month.
The track, written and produced by Rico Love, is the first collaboration the two have done since their 1998 Grammy award winning duet, "The Boy Is Mine." Rico spoke with Rap-Up on getting together with the ladies to create the new track.
“It’s a very soulful R&B song with pop sensibilities,” Rico Love said of the duet. “I wanted to make sure I made it a classic R&B record, but I definitely wanted to make sure that it had enough appeal to cross over and become a Top 40 record.”
"It All Belongs To Me" is scheduled to be released on February 6 and will appear on Monica's upcoming album, New Life, dropping March 6. The track will be featured on Brandy's yet untitled album as well, scheduled for a spring release. Check out their tweets about the collaboration and take a trip down memory lane with their first duet, "The Boy Is Mine."
