NBA To Embark On Eight-City Nation Tour

Feeling empty in the wake of the NBA Finals? Don’t fret – the league is giving fans some summer action with its eighth annual NBA Nation tour.

The tour, sponsored by Sprint, kicks off Saturday, June 21 in Washington D.C. at the Safeway Barbecue Battle and will make pit-stops in Philadelphia, Sacramento, Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Indianapolis and Detroit. Fans can participate in a range of free clinics as well as meet current and past NBA and WNBA players. NBA Hall of Famer Darryl Dawkins will serve as the league’s official event ambassador.

If you’ve got hops; you can fly high in the Sprite Slam Dunk Showdown. Winners from each city will receive a $2,500 prize and the chance to take home $10,000 in the Sprite Slam Dunk Championship event in NYC. If your sharpshooting skills are on point, try your hand at the Sprint Ultimate Shot, which includes a daunting twenty-five foot basket. The NBA Fan Combine and Broadcast Booth will also be available for basketball Stans.
