Ian McKellen has signed on to return as Gandalf in The Hobbit, the two-movie adaptation of the J.R.R. Tolkien novel being directed by Peter Jackson.

The cast of The Hobbit is going to be a Lord of the Rings reunion. McKellen signing on comes on the the heels of Andy Serkis inking a deal to reprise Gollum, while Elijah Wood will return as Frodo and Cate Blanchett will be back as Galadriel.
