New Mixtapes: Warren G, Mickey Factz, Actual Proof, Slum Village, Audio Push, YG, Soulja Boy

Posted March 28, 2012

New mixtapes for your listening pleasure.

Warren G - No One Can Do It Better

West Coast vet Warren G drops a 16-track gem this week. No One Can Do It Better features multiple collaborations with Snoop Dogg and the late Nate Dogg. The MC also revealed plans for a forthcoming EP, Regulate the G-Funk Era, which can be expected sometime this summer.

Mickey Factz - Mickey MauSe

Mickey Factz goes hollywood screenwriter on his latest creative effort, Mickey MauSe. The RCA artist constructed the mixtape around a pseudo character, one of those homeless genius types, who was thrown into the streets by his parents during the Keith Haring/Andy Warhol era of New York City. Said by Factz that the soundtrack mirrors his own story, the project was entirely produced by Mickey, with samples from Dangermouse and Deadmau5.

Actual Proof - Black Boy Radio

You can't go wrong with Jamla Records. The soulful nature of Black Boy Radio wraps you up like a warm blanket; you just won't be able to turn away. The 19-track album features mind blowing production from 9th Wonder, Hi-Tek and Soul Council.

Slum Village - The Dirty Slum

Slum Village joins DJ Mick Boogie for their long awaited release, The Dirty Slum. The 20-track project features a slew of artists, among them is Phonte, Black Milk, De La Soul, Rapper Big Pooh and Joe Scudda. We even get a guest appearance from Big Sean on the haunting collaboration "Just The Past."

Audio Push - Truth Be Told

Southern Cali duo Audio Push makes a progressive move from their days as "jerk rappers." On their new mixtape titled Truth Be Told, we get a happy marriage of bass heavy, playful production as well as a more mellow, airy sound. Price Tag and Oktane did a nice job of giving us lyrical variety, even bringing guests along like Casey Veggies and Chip Tha Ripper.

YG & DJ Mustard - 4 Hunnid Degreez

Stepping into the scene with "Toot It and Boot It," we all looked and wondered what was next for YG. As we await his major label debut, the Def Jam artist continues to put in work, holding over fans with his new mixtape 4 Hunnid Degreezz. The tape features snap-heavy songs similair to his break-out single, as well as West Coast infused tracks like the Casey Veggies featured "Blunted."

Soulja Boy - Obey

It's been awhile since we've heard a new project from Soulja Boy Tell'em. It's no surprise being that the young millionaire has been occupying his time with movie releases and writing books. Now that it's back to the music, Soulja gives us something just in time for the approaching summer. This project is something you'd probably enjoy most with your sunroof open and volume blasting and obnoxious levels.
