NEW MUSIC: Heems’ Killing Time

Music

/ August 15, 2012

As soon as “Killing Time” from Heems (of Das Racist) is launched by the play button, it is a train ride of broody lyrics and semi-fleeting big beat strokes. Illustrating Racist’s unquestioned Speedy Gonzalez raps, Heems’ solo single is a brew of Everlast’s cloudiest days and show an artist fed up with society revelations. His self-assured coolness comes out in the: “I’m bored, I’m bored” repeat of the bridge. “Killing Time” is also sonically symbolic of the UK garage movement, and was a produced by Yorrisey of BLKHRTS. Set to be featured on his mixtape Wild Water Kingdom, Diplo, Le1f, and Harry Fraud to name a few are expected to lend a hand in its musical awesomeness.
