Lady Gaga's third ArtPop single, "Do What U Want," features R. Kelly and is a synth-heavy throwback to '80s electronica. Both R. Kelly and Gaga deliver R&B vocals over the dance track, making for a compelling polarity on the song.
"Do What U Want," was seemingly inspired by the negative comments Gaga is privy to in her profession. In the lead up to the single's release, Gaga dropped several tweets that addressed the hateful rumors about her body and image. Even with the single's cover art, Lady Gaga seems to be telling her haters to kiss her derriere, while the lyrics on Gaga's "Do What U Want," have the Born This Way singer putting her foot down.
"You can’t have my heart/ And you won't use my mind but/ Do what you want (with my body)," she sings. "You can’t stop my voice cause/ You don't own my life but/ Do what you want (with my body)."
