New Music: Mary J. Blige ‘Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas’

Mary J. Blige is bringing in the holidays a little early this year. It might still be October, but MJB just released a new rendition of an unforgettable X-mas classic. Introduced in the1944 movie “Meet Me in St. Louis,” actress Judy Garland first belted out the song in a scene. The song will be included on a compilation album (A Mary Christmas) which also features renditions of “The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire),” “Little Drummer Boy” and a selection of collaborations: Barbra Streisand and Chris Botti join Blige on “When You With Upon a Star,” Jesse J turns up for “Do You Hear What I Hear?” and Marc Anthony sings on “Noche de Paz,” a Spanish version of “Silent Night.” Look our for the release to drop on Oct. 15 through Verve/Interscope. via WSJ
