NEW MUSIC - Reviewed: Eric Turner & Avicii – Dancing in My Head (Tom Hangs Remix)
Avicii is starting to catalog a brilliant track record. When the producer-DJ’s remix altar ego Tom Hangs puts his spin on tunes (“Le7els” and more recently, “Silhouettes” to name two), memorable electronic anthems are what happens.
His latest “Dancing in My Head” is the “Tiny Dancer” of this generation. The track has chorusing lyrics from New York based vocal impresario Eric Turner that hit you on the musical G-Spot. While many a-hater dismiss young Tim Bergling, aka Avicii, aka Tim Berg, aka Tom Hangs, (aka You Still With Me?) as a BS “button-pus…” (I won’t even finish typing the DJ-related buzzword of the month), it is only due to obvious jealously of his production ability. Youngblood (22 years old) has talent and he is not going anywhere.
Turner is known for penning massive anthems with a message, and when this one turned up in my inbox yesterday, the message came through loud and clear: I want to “keep on dancing.” Think I’m a silly, corny girl? Just listen… I CHALLENGE YOU TO HATE IT.
