In a previous interview, SZA marked that her sound was more akin to "glitter trap" than anything, a saying she started bringing up whenever recording within her TDE camp. Her latest track, "Moodring" may fit the bill as Felix Snox's avalanche of hi-hats, elevated synths and drums chase around SZA's ethereal voice. "I wrote 'Moodright' the night I opened for Coldplay," she recently told Billboard. "After the show, I drank every bottle of champagne Chris Martin [and] the band gave us that night, with Thundercat and my band. Great fucking time."
The track will appear on Kitty Cash's upcoming Love The Free II mixtape which will feature collaborations with Dev Hynes, Yuna and more.
