Artist Mark Ryden, the man behind Tyler, The Creator’s Wolf album cover, opened an art exhibition entitled “The Gay Nineties West,” and tapped the Odd Future rapper for an accompanying song. Recruiting various artists to record their take on 1892 Harry Dacre song “Daisy Bell (Bicycle Built For Two),” Tyler shared his version of the song via Facebook with the following message:

“I WAS 15 AND BLOWN AWAY BY MARK RYDENS ART WORK, IT WAS LIKE THE SHIT THAT REALLLLLLY CONNECTED WITH ME ALL THE BRIGHT COLORS BUT FUCKED UP SHIT, BUT I ALWAYS SAID ONE DAY I’LL GET THIS DUDE TO DRAW ME AND HE DID LAST YEAR ( WOLF ALBUM COVER) AND IN EXCHANGE HE ASKED IF I DID A SONG FOR AN UPCOMING ART SHOW HE HAS ENTILED ‘THE GAY 90S’. MYSELF, KATY PERRY AND SOME OTHERS ALL MADE OUR OWN VERSION OF THIS SONG ENTITLED ‘DAISY BELL’, HERE IS MINE. AND GO LOOK TO HIS ART SHOW IN HOLLYWOOD AND KOHN GALLERY!”

Ryden’s “Gay Nineties West” is open now at the Kohn Gallery in Los Angeles, CA. Listen to Tyler, the Creator’s “Daisy Bell” above.
