New Music: Wale ‘MMG Under God’

/ July 15, 2014

Contrary to what Meek Mill may think, Wale is a team player.

Debuted today on New York’s Power 105.1, Wale’s new track, “MMG Under God,” is a proclamation of Wale’s loyalty to his record label, Maybach Music Group. After a social media squabble with label-mate Meek Mill, the D.C. rapper mentions him briefly in a verse, “A brother you argue with is a brother you love enough to correct.” Nonetheless, still referring to Meek as his brother.

Soon after the small beef took place over the Internet, Meek Mill was sentenced to jail time for violating his probation. Meek could spend anywhere from three to six months behind bars, which overlaps with the time frame of his forthcoming album, Dreams Worth More Than Money. Once again, Mr. Folarin took the high road by giving him a “Free Meek!” shoutout at the end of the song.

Check the new track out below. Wale’s album, An Album About Nothing is set to drop later on this year.
