Last summer, we put folks on notice about British soulstress Elli Ingram, who ripped through a jazzy rendition of Kendrick Lamar's "Poetic Justice" and dropped a meant-to-be-devoured-ASAP EP called Sober.
"Slow the world down so I can find myself," Brit soul singer Elli Ingram sings on "When It Was Dark"
Today, the 20-year-old returns with her blonde bob, sultry vocals and a chest-beating beat as she navigates her dark side for "When It Was Dark," a shiny example of her raw talent. And if you won't take our word for it, the above visual is directed by the award-winning Emil Nava, who has worked with Tinie Tempah, Jessie J and Ed Sheeran, and also helmed her "Mad Love" video.
Now, run along and let your eardrums be soothed to the sounds of Elli with "When It Was Dark." Thank us later and stay tuned for her forthcoming mini-album on the way.
