NFL 2012 WEEK 13 Picks: Final Month of the Regular Season Will Bring On Upsets

NFL 2012 WEEK 13 Picks: Final Month of the Regular Season Will Bring On Upsets

Richard Boadu Posted December 2, 2012

It's the final month of the regular season starting this Sunday. This season, much like this year, has gone by faster than email. There aren’t a ton of good games in this week’s lineup but we found three that we liked. Here are VIBE.com’s Week 13 NFL picks.

New England Patriots vs. Miami Dolphins

This game has upset tattooed all over it. The Patriots are 8-3 and feeling good about life and football. A win on Sunday and they’ll win the AFC East division and be able to focus their attention on a first round bye in the playoffs. The Dolphins have lost three of their last four and are at 5-6. The Dolphins need this game much more than the Patriots need it. Because of that, I’m going with the Dolphins to pull off the upset of the century — okay maybe the upset of the week. The Patriots aren’t going to take Dolphins rookie quarterback, Ryan Tannehill, serious and they’ll be more concerned about their upcoming games with the 49ers and Texans. The Patriots get caught sleeping and lose 20 – 27.

Baltimore Ravens vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

These two teams met two weeks ago with the Ravens coming out on top, 13 – 10. Ben Roethlisberger didn’t play in that game and it doesn’t look like he’s going to play in this game. The Steelers are down to their third string quarterback. As Gucci Mane would say, “Sh*t scressful bruh”. Last week, the Steelers committed eight turnovers and were beat by the Browns. This week, it’s going to get uglier than a girl with too much makeup on. The Ravens defense has been playing well and bottom line, the Ravens have their starting quarterback and the Steelers don’t have their starter or their backup but their emergency quarterback is going to be running the show. All signs point to a panic attack, Ravens win 24 – 10.

New York Giants vs. Washington Redskins

The main event for NFL Week 13 takes place on Monday Night. Giants vs. Redskins, Eli Manning vs. RGIII, The Big Apple vs. Chocolate City, Papoose vs. Wale! Okay, let me chill. We all know that last one isn’t even a contest, but this game will be.

The last time these two clubs met, Robert Griffin III looked like the future, that all things were right in the world, and the man to call on if you need a quarterback to help you win in the 4th quarter or someone to have your back when the zombie apocalypse goes down. He was going to lead the Skins from behind to pull off the win, but Eli Manning connected with Victor Cruz on a 77 yard bomb to win the game.

RGIII has been playing great lately, but he’s still a rookie and this game is being played in December, which means the Giants are about to hit their stride. The Giants play flawless football in the final weeks of the season. May the Lord be with RGIII this weekend, because if the Giants can make Aaron Rodgers look like a bum like they did last week, they’ll have RGIII wishing he stayed in college this year. Giants win, 31 – 23.
