Nick Cannon Helps Fight Hunger This Holiday Season

Posted December 19, 2011
Nick Cannon stepped up in a big way this past weekend to help raise awareness for America's fight against hunger.

Mr. Showbiz himself, volunteered at the LA Regional Food Bank on behalf of Feeding America, DoSomething.org and their newest partnership, Tackle Hunger.  Nick Cannon was joined by his NCredible Entertainment family including New Boyz, Cory Gunz, The Rangers, Colette Car and the Wonder Broz. During their visit, Cannon and his crew packed over 10,000 pounds of food – equivalent to 7,500 meals for local families.

Nick reminds us all that 'tis the season for giving back. While many of us are blessed with having a meal to come home to this holiday, there are 49 million Americans at risk of hunger which includes 17 Million children. As a child, Nick and his family periodically relied on food banks during tough times.

"I remember being so excited when the holidays came around, and we'd get to go to the local food bank to get our holiday turkey. I know what a blessing it is that these services exist, and feel grateful that I'm now in a position to give back and help the 50 million Americans who are living at risk of hunger." Nick said in a recent interview.

Those who want to join Nick and the fight against hunger, please visit www.feedingamerica.org/giveameal.  $1 donated to Feeding America helps provide 8 meals to families facing hunger.--Robbie Sokolowsky
