After giving viewers a look into what goes on behind the scenes at Britney Spears’ Femme Fatale tour, Nicki Minaj took a moment to elaborate on her latest feat, a roll in 20th Century Fox’, Ice Age 4: Continental Drift:
"I don't know how much I can talk about that, but I came about that when my agency sent me out on an audition for some people who wanted to hear me. They knew I liked animation, they knew I liked to do voices, and so they said they were doing that so I thought, 'This is amazing,” she says to MTV News.
Though she received a roll in this prehistoric flick, it was not the one she originally tried out for. Impressed with her ability to impersonate various voice types, the writers of the film wrote in a part especially for Ms.Minaj:
“The original role that I was up for I didn't get. So I said, 'Oh, OK, whatever.' I was really mad, and the next thing you know, they called me and they said, 'We wrote in a part just for you 'cause we really want you to be a part of this movie.' "
Unsure of the exact roll she’ll be playing, the budding actress says she’ll leave that up to the film’s producers: "I just was screaming and so excited, and I went in and I had a blast. I did it as two different voices. We'll see what happens."
Ice Age 4: Continental Drift is slated for release on July 13th 2012. Nicki will co-star alongside, fellow Young Money solider, Drake, Wanda Sykes, Jeremy Renner, Aziz Ansari, and Heather Morris. –Tyler McDermott
