Nicki Minaj Says Superbowl Performance With Madonna & M.I.A. Was Her Favorite of All Time

Nicki Minaj Says Superbowl Performance With Madonna & M.I.A. Was Her Favorite of All Time

Posted April 4, 2012

During her busy album release day, Nicki Minaj made her way to Sirius Xm Radio's "Sway In The Morning."

The "Right By My Side" rapper/songstress discussed her transition to pop, what is to be expected of her "Beez In The Trap" video, her kiss with Madonna and how she felt about her Grammy performance despite all of the backlash.

While some fans criticize Nicki for not sticking to just rapping, the Young Money diva contends that she is being versatile, just as she's always been. “I think I went from being a caricature in people’s eyes to someone with a lot of layers," she said. "You just gotta realize that I’m never gonna be one dimensional. Even my core fans at times thought I was one dimensional when I was doing the mixtapes. However, even on the mixtapes, I was singing and I was doing songs like ‘Can Anybody Hear Me.’”

Nicki seems to take the hate in stride, also mentioning how much she loved her Grammy performance regardless of any controversy. “It was my favorite performance that I’ve ever done in my life. When I watched it back, I was jumping for joy. I wish I could watch that performance over and over like a fan.”

Her album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded officially hit stores yesterday. The rapper/singer has been doing a series of promotion for the album in New York as she hit up 106 & Park and hosted an album signing at Best Buy. -- Jazmine Gray
