N.O.R.E. Supports Mayor Bloomberg On Ground Zero Mosque Controversy: 'You Fight Terrorism With Freedom'

As a native New Yorker N.O.R.E. has lived through both the city's most tragic and victorious times. From black outs to Yankees World Series titles, the Queens rapper has witnessed some of the best and worst of times come and go. However, a day in Gotham City's history that N.O.R.E. and the rest of world will never forget day took place on Sept. 11th, 2001. The subsequent attacks on the World Trade Center buildings in lower Manhattan were the most horrific acts of terroism that the city has endured.

With the recent controversy surrounding the proposed construction of a mosque near Ground Zero, VIBE asked N.O.R.E. to weigh in on the matter. Outside of VIBE studios in New York City, he spoke his mind on the matter at hand.

"I actually like what Bloomberg's response was, and I'm not a fan of his at all. He said "you fight terrorism with freedom." Now in New York, I've always had Muslim, Jewish, and Christian friends. And it shouldn't be a place where you can practice your religion but not here because that's fucked up. Even in jail you can practice your religion. Every Muslim did not have something to do with 9/11 especially the ones living here." —Mikey Fresh
