Notorious Naturi Cracks Billboard With 'Fame 2009'

Naturi Naughton has made an impact on the charts as a solo act.

Naughton, previously known as 1/3 of 3LW, makes an imprint on the Billboard Hot 100 with "Fame 2009". Taken from the soundtrack of the forthcoming film Fame, Naughton's "Fame 2009" debuts at no.48 on Billboard's Dance/Club Play Songs chart, just months after her big screen debut in Notorious (as Lil Kim).

Naughton's success with the song, a cover of Irene Cara's 1980 classic, could lead to top 10 charting success, much like Cara's version that peaked at no.4.

Fame opens in theaters September 25.
