Odd Future -- the hip-hop group that consists of members Tyler, the Creator, Earl Sweatshirt, Hodgy Beats, Left Brain, Syd Da Kid, Domo Genesis and more -- aren't looking to recruit anyone else into their lineup, and one overzealous fan found this out the hard way.
17-year-old Chassan Rasagi was beaten-up by the hip-hop collective when he attempted to join them onstage at a recent gig in San Antonio, TX. According to TMZ, member Hodgy Beats, who also fronts Mellowhype, pushed Rasagi back into the crowd, but instead of crowd surfing his way out of the mayhem the crowd pushed him back onstage. The band weren't too happy about that and soon the teenage fan became a punching bag.
A video of the incident has made its way online (and more are likely to surface), but from the looks of it, Odd Future stopped their entire show after the interruption, call Rasagi a "bitch ass n---a" and beat the living daylights out of him before walking off stage. Interestingly enough, the crowd loved every minute of it, chanting "Wolfgang! Wolfgang!"
Some say Rasagi threw the first punch. In the end, the fan suffered two seizures, and wounds to his head and body, including burns.
This isn't Odd Future's first run-in with the law. In November of 2011, rapper Left Brain was hit with an assault charge after clogging a photographer at the Voodoo Music Experience music festival in New Orleans.
