Oprah Winfrey and Chris Rock are teaming up to release a film adaptation of the GQ magazine article, “Will You Be My Black Friend?”

Based on a story by Devin Friedman in GQ’s November 2008 issue, the film will be based on Friedman’s tales of attempting to make black friends by posting an ad on Craigslist.

With Rock playing a starring role, the film is expected to humorously explore race relations. No other cast members have been announced.

The comedy will be produced by Lionsgate and Winfrey’s company Harpo Films. –Linda Hobbs
