Oprah Winfrey is heading to the Ivy League. The queen of media will be delivering the commencement address at Harvard University's 362nd graduation ceremony on May 30, taking her "life class" to students who need it.
"Oprah's journey from her grandmother's Mississippi farm to becoming one of the world's most admired women is one of the great American success stories," Harvard President Drew Faust told the Harvard Gazette Monday (March 4). "She has used her extraordinary influence and reach as a force for good in the world, with a constant focus on the importance of educational opportunity and the virtues of serving others."
The OWN head honcho will speak during the prestigious institution's commencement day afternoon exercises, which will take place in the Tercentenary Theatre of Harvard Yard.
Last year, O dropped pearls of wisdom at Spelman College, the same university that gave the media mogul an honorary degree in 1993.
