Today (Jan. 29), Queen O turned the Big 6-0. Oprah Winfrey has quite the legacy tucked under her belt, and instead of throwing a big party (she had an exhilarating pre-function at SoulCycle a few days prior), she chose to reflect on her life with more quaint celebrations. In the latest issue of O, The Oprah Magazine, she penned an entire piece about what the milestone means to her. “I’m turning 60, and—please don’t take offense—I no longer have to be concerned about what anyone thinks of me!” she wrote. “I’m turning 60, and I’ve earned the right to be just as I am. I’m more secure in being myself than I’ve ever been.” Throughout the day, Oprah was gifted some roses from Cicely Tyson, sipped on ice tea with Maria Shriver and grinned like a kid on Christmas next to a pile of birthday gifts.
