When he is not out getting tattoos of his imprisoned wife Remy Ma, Papoose is claiming the throne of New York -- even over Jay Z. In a recent interview with the NY Daily News, the rapper was anything but humble when referring to his own rap skill, placing himself ahead of the renowned rap mogul.
“Nobody is better than me — Jay-Z, nobody,” he said. “None are more lyrically inclined than me. None of them. I’m definitely the king of New York. I am the greatest out of New York. When I look in the mirror, I don’t see Jay Z — I see Papoose. More power to him, but he’s not better than me.”
Papoose -- who also came at Kendrick Lamar and Drake on his "Control" freestyle -- spoke about his lack of radio play on New York stations, stating that the setback was not going to deter his plan to drop a new mixtape every month since "there’s no artist out there doing that.” He also continued to praise himself by taking the "W" in a few statistical categories.
“My pen game is the most immaculate,” Papoose said. “I bring the most to the table on every level, concept, substance.”
And of course the interview would have been remiss without mention of Remy Ma's impending release. Papoose shared plans of taking her to Tao to "have a good meal."
