Pardon the Introduction: AWKWORD "Notorious"

Pardon the Introduction: AWKWORD "Notorious"

Jessica Wunsch Posted January 14, 2013

The latest beat from NYC rapper AWKWORD comes as a single from his forthcoming charity album (100 percent of the profits go to global Hip Hop project World View), "Notorious." Featuring the remixing talents of Australian producer Amin PaYnE, the track reworks the original Duran Duran hit "Notorious" into a rap/rhyme plea to end street violence after the number of stabbings and shootings that took place across the country during the premieres for the Biggie biopic of the same name.

The single also features the prophetic words and beats of Wordsmith, Jasiri X, Jus Daze and Capital X, and has already gained the approval of legendary hip-hop artist and recent Rock & Roll Hall of Frame inductee Chuck D of Public Enemy. Take a listen for yourself below, and snag the track for free with a complimentary download.
